DMZ, where the sorrow of the Korean War remains

The demilitarized zone, or DMZ, is an area where both North and South Korea agreed not to deploy troops within 2 km of each other during the armistice agreement after the Korean War. The role of the DMZ is very important because if both sides are close together, there is a high possibility of military conflict and the problem of war recurrence. Since its establishment in 1953, the DMZ has been heavily restricted to people's access, with little environmental pollution and many endangered species of flora and fauna. Imjingak Park, where traces of war and peace coexist

Located 7km south of the DMZ, Imjingak is a representative Korean tourist attraction where the tragedy of the Korean War remains. It is a place where you can learn about the preciousness of peace while looking at the painful traces of the war. Imjingak was a devastated battlefield during the Korean War and has various war relics such as the Imjingang Railroad Bridge, which was blown up in the early days of the war and still remains, and the Bridge of Freedom, which was crossed by ROK and UN soldiers who were prisoners of the communist army in search of freedom. There are also various facilities such as the 140,000-pyeong Peace Nuri, Imjingak Peace Gondola, the 6.25 War Abductees Memorial Hall, and children's play facilities, so experience a different tour!

Dora Observatory is located on top of Dorasan Mountain, 167m above sea level and 1.5km away from the Military Demarcation Line. When you go up to the Dora Observatory, you can see the DMZ, the Gaeseong Industrial Complex, the Gaeseong city, as well as the North Korean propaganda village and Songaksan Mountain at a glance. Currently, it was rebuilt 12m higher than the old observatory and is guarding the northernmost part of the western front.
 

The 3rd Tunnel, where the history of division remains in detail

The 3rd tunnel, discovered in the demilitarized zone on October 17, 1978 based on information about the tunnel construction of a North Korean defector, is an arch-shaped structure with a width of 2m and a height of 2m, and is evaluated as a very threatening tunnel with a capacity of 30,000 troops per hour. DMZ video hall, exhibition hall, symbolic sculptures, souvenir shops, etc. are installed to provide various attractions to tourists, so it is very popular among tourists.
